Ian’s Third Birthday | Pirate Beach Styled Session | Grosse Pointe Child & Family Photographer

Ahoy maties!! This may have been my very favorite photo session to date. Ever. Adorable little Ian is turning 3 next month and he LOVES Pirates! When his mom contacted me about doing pirate photos for his birthday session, I nearly jumped for joy. OK. I did jump for joy. But seriously. Who doesn’t want to pretend to be a pirate?! AND to get to do it on a real beach!! SO. Much. FUN!!!

We started the session by walking around the “clean” parts of the local park and docks. Ian was very happy to run around, but not so happy to “perform” for us. We still managed to capture some great pics of him despite his best efforts to evade sitting still for the camera.

When it came time to go play on the beach, Ian was right at home. As is evident by the sweet images below. The wonder and awe that were captured in Ian’s face… Well, look for yourself!

Run up your white flag, you scurvy scum, and bring me candy, or I’ll be sending you to Davy Jones.

“I’m no longer a child and I still want to be, to live with the pirates. Because I want to live forever in wonder.” ~ Kathy Acker  Wonderful quote. Anyone else agree? I do!
