Every artist needs a personal project every now and then – or even a continuous project that is ongoing all the time. Something that we can work on individually to learn through doing, ignite inspiration from within and ultimately, grow as a photographer so that our work can improve both personally and professionally. I’ve decided to challenge myself along with Click it up a Notch and Shutterbag USA in a June photo challenge. The challenge: to photograph your everyday life each day for the month of June. This is an Instagram challenge, but I wanted to share some of my images here with you all. If you want to follow along on Instagram, you can do so with #clickaday and please don’t forget to follow me @dephotodesign!
Yesterday, after we got home from a charity event that I was photographing for the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, our little princess decided that it was a perfect day to go on a nap strike. So, since my husband was washing his car in the driveway, I sent her out in one of the most adorable swimsuits I found this year to “help daddy” wash his car. Since she proved very quickly to not be a gigantic help to him – at less than 2 1/2 years old, of course she wasn’t going to be really helpful! – I had a genius idea of having her wash her little tikes push car next to daddy in the driveway. The result – a whole bunch of great images which I will forever cherish.
